Department of Chemistry-University of Al al-Bayet


Our Mission

Chemistry Department

The Chemistry Department was established to contribute in providing scientific trained human resources for Jordan in Chemistry field. And to build a distinguished scientific foundation in its program and its ability to teach Chemistry on strong and modern basis, to go on with the fast development that Chemistry science is attending internationally. Another important goal for the department is that to qualify the students for fruitful work in academic , industrial and research fields, in and outside Jordan. It aims to establish a center for applied research and directly effective studies in both fields: industry and environment in Jordan too.

Recentally, Chemistry Department is replenishing its requirements of equipments, study and research laboratories in the following fields: Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry and Applied Chemistry. In case that abilities are abundant, the department will develop the teaching program to include the Ph.D. degree in Chemistry.    Now, the number of teaching authority members is (7). And the number of M.Sc. students is (10), while the number of B.Sc. students is (192).

 

Department Objects:

 The department aims to train graduates that are qualified for working in academic, research and industrial fields  to cover Jordan's and Arab countrie's needs from qualified trained human resources.

 

 Study and Research Laboratories:

 The department includes (5) Study Laboratories equipped with the basic equipments for study. Also, the department includes (3) Research Laboratories distributed on: Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry and Physical Chemistry.

 

Future Plans:

Now, the department is preparing to replenish its requirements from equipments, study and research laboratories, and in case that these equipments are provided, the department will develop the study plan to include Ph.D. degree in Chemistry. Now, the number of  teaching authority members is (7) from all required specializations. Also the department is arranging to increase the number of B.Sc. and M.Sc. students, and to direct the researches toward the hot topics to meet the international and Arabic universitie's standards.
