Al al-Bayt participates in the Higher Education Accreditation Commission’s workshop on the QS ranking

Dr. Majid Ibrahim, Director of the Academic Accreditation Department - Quality and Development Center, participated in the workshop organized by the Higher Education Accreditation Commission at the University of Jordan on the procedures and mechanisms of applying for international rankings in general and the QS ranking in particular, in the presence of representatives from Jordanian universities and the Accreditation Commission.

Prof. Zaid Al-Bashayra, Assistant Chairman of the Accreditation Commission for Quality Assurance and Classification, affirmed the importance of higher education institutions' participation in the ranking, which is one of the most important tasks entrusted to the commission according to its law and vision to raise Jordanian higher education institutions to excellence and global competitiveness. He maintained that this workshop aims to prepare and motivate universities to participate in the various international rankings since the commission has become accredited by the two institutions (THE, QS) to check the ranking data submitted to them by Jordanian universities.

The participation in this workshop comes as a preparation for Al al-Bayt University to apply for the QS ranking of 2023. It is worth noting that the period for applying for this ranking will end at the end of January of this year. Thus, the University, through the Quality and Development Center, began collecting the required data from the concerned authorities on campus and preparing them according to the template approved by the ranking institution. This ranking is based on a set of criteria, the most important of which is the academic reputation, the reputation of employers and scientific research, in addition to statistical data which began to be mentored by the Accreditation Commission in accordance with the agreement concluded by the ranking institution with the Higher Education Accreditation Commission.

At the end of the workshop, which was attended by a number of those concerned with the rankings of academic programs in higher education institutions, an extensive discussion took place in which the organizers of the workshop answered the attendees' questions and inquiries about the mechanisms and procedures of applying for the QS World Ranking
