Heritage and its forms in the Jordanian short story
Abstract
This research seeks to address the forms of heritage in the short story in Jordan, and to study its artistic issues and aesthetic dimensions among a number of writers who established the foundations of the short story. We try to define its artistic path and monitor the stages of development of employing heritage in it. The artistic value that he added to the short story, such as: folk poetry, folk proverbs, chants, customs and traditions, heritage places, myth, and intertextuality, which were linked to the Jordanian conscience, such as Sufi lodges, mosques, holy places, and shrines, which appeared clearly in the course of the Jordanian short story. The research concluded that the Jordanian short story is part of the Jordanian writer's self-awareness, which he expressed in many forms of heritage, which are popular traditions passed down through generations. It formed a rich source of material in Jordanian short story literature, demonstrating a significant evolution in the writers' vision of art, both in terms of perspective and artistic structure, through the use of heritage.
