Impact of Digital Transformation On Supply Chain Management: The Mediating Role of Process Re-Engineering at Jordanian Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Companies
Aim: This study aimed to examine the impact of digital transformation on supply chain management, with business process re-engineering as a mediating variable, at Jordanian pharmaceutical manufacturing companies.
Methodology: A cross-sectional study was conducted using a web-based questionnaire upon the study?s population which consisted of 510 managers at Jordanian pharmaceutical manufacturing companies. A proportional stratified random sample of 220 employees holding managerial positions was taken from the study population. Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling via Smart PLS4 software.
Results: The results indicated the presence of a significant impact of digital transformation on the supply chain management at Jordanian pharmaceutical manufacturing companies, and the presence of a significant impact of digital transformation on process re-engineering, as well as the presence of a significant impact of process re-engineering on supply chain management. Furthermore, the study?s results revealed a significant partial impact of process re-engineering as a mediating variable in explaining the impact of digital transformation on supply chain management at Jordanian pharmaceutical manufacturing companies.
Conclusion: The study revealed the impact of adopting digital transformation and working on re-engineering companies? processes, as these factors play a key role in improving supply chain management to be more efficient and effective, which in turn increases a company?s success, prosperity and sustainability.
