Opening of the activities of the Third International Conference of the College of Law at the University, entitled "Artificial Intelligence: A Legal Vision Towards a Sustainable Future"
On behalf of the Prime Minister, Dr. Jaafar Hassan, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Nancy Namrouqa, sponsored the opening of the 3rd International Conference of the Faculty of Law at the University, entitled "Artificial Intelligence: A Legal Vision Towards a Sustainable Future," in the presence of the President of the University, Professor Osama Nusair, at Al-Hussein Bin Ali Amphitheater at the University.
The President of the University, Professor Osama Nusair, explained that the conference comes in realization and affirmation of the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein, and the follow-up of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II, of the necessity of implementing new projects that keep pace with the future, including expanding the use of artificial intelligence, and involving Jordanian universities effectively in this field, in order to achieve Jordan's vision, which has placed digital transformation and innovation at the top of its priorities.
Nusair affirmed the university's belief in technological advancement, and that this conference is part of its national mission to build a digital future within a solid legal framework.
The Prime Minister's representative, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Nancy Namrouqa, stated that this conference, which is distinguished by high-level international participation, is an important platform for academic and legal dialogue, and reflects the importance of scientific and research convergence on artificial intelligence and the employment of technology, which has become a fundamental pillar for building the future. She added that this calls for intensifying efforts to develop legal and legislative frameworks that keep pace with this rapid development and build a more sustainable future, noting the government's efforts in adopting artificial intelligence projects and targeting government institutions to raise awareness of it.
The head of the conference, Dr. Samer Al-Dalaleh, thanked the sponsor of the conference and the participants from inside and outside Jordan, pointing to the large volume of participation with solid scientific papers. He indicated that this conference is the result of the efforts made by the university, and the directives that contributed to integrating artificial intelligence into university plans, re-qualifying cadres in line with the requirements of the labor market, and involving them in all purposeful scientific spaces, in order to create a conscious generation, and to build effectively on both theoretical and applied levels.
For his part, Dr. Maher Abu Khawat, Dean of the Faculty of Law at Kafr El-Sheikh University in the Arab Republic of Egypt, thanked Jordan, its leadership, and the university on behalf of the participants in the conference, stressing the importance of the conference in addressing a very important topic, which is the legal aspects of artificial intelligence and legal responsibility for its damages.
In conclusion, which was attended by a large crowd, led by senior officials in the governorate, a number of members of the House of Representatives, trustees, the Judicial Council, the Constitutional Court, the vice presidents of the university, tribal sheikhs, dignitaries of Al-Mafraq Governorate, and deans of faculties, an introductory film about the university and the Faculty of Law was shown, followed by honoring the sponsor of the conference and those in charge of it.
