Al al-Bayt University celebrates the 79th Independence Day

Under the patronage of Professor Osama Nseir, President of Al al-Bayt University, the Deanship of Student Affairs organized a national ceremony on the occasion of the seventy-ninth anniversary of the independence of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, in which university students and staff expressed their pride and appreciation for this dear national occasion.

The ceremony, which was held in the Abu Ubaida amphitheater, began with a recitation of the Holy Quran by the university's reciter, student Anas Hassanein.

President of the University, Professor Osama Nseir, delivered a speech congratulating His Majesty King Abdullah II and the Jordanian people on this occasion, stressing the pivotal role that universities play in strengthening national belonging and preserving the Jordanian identity by consolidating the values of loyalty and belonging among students.

Then, the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Saif Al-Shubeil, delivered a speech in which he welcomed the attendees, stressing the importance of celebrating Independence Day, which embodies the march of building the modern Jordanian state, under the leadership of the Hashemites, and the achievements made during it at various levels.

The ceremony included artistic and literary performances, most notably Professor Harbi Al-Masri's presentation of national poetic texts that expressed the meanings of independence and freedom, and which were admired by the audience.

The event, which was managed and presented by Dr. Hayel Al-Sarhan, Deputy Dean of Student Affairs, concluded with the university's choral group, led by Professor Ghaleb Khoury, presenting a collection of Jordanian folkloric pieces that the audience interacted with, in an atmosphere dominated by feelings of pride and appreciation for the homeland and its wise leadership. Mr. Muhammad Basbous, Director of the Department of Cultural Activities at the University, supervised the ceremony.​
