The Scientific Day for Graduate Studies, Scientific Research, and Life Sciences: Reality - Challenges - Aspirations
On behalf of the University President, Professor Osama Nusair, the Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Professor Omar Al-Atin, sponsored the scientific day of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, the Deanship of Scientific Research, and the Department of Life Sciences at the Faculty of Science, entitled "Reality - Challenges - Aspirations," as part of the series of conferences and scientific days held by the university for the second semester. The aim was to promote the culture of scientific research and knowledge exchange among researchers and students, and to shed light on the latest scientific developments, in the presence of a number of deans of colleges, faculty members, and graduate students from Jordanian universities, in the Al-Bukheit Auditorium at the Faculty of Business.
On behalf of the University President, Professor Omar Al-Atin, during the opening, affirmed that scientific research is not a luxury, but rather the nation's weapon in the battle of civilization, and the secret of its survival in an era where knowledge is accelerating and challenges are increasing. He stressed that we at Al al-Bayt University are aware of our responsibilities in transferring and manufacturing science and directing it to serve humanity, in order to achieve the vision of our leader, His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein, who made scientific research a strategic option for Jordan. Under his guidance, Jordanian universities have become beacons of thought and centers of cultural radiation, where His Majesty sees in the Jordanian mind an inexhaustible wealth and in the national future a bright future.
The Dean of Scientific Research, Professor Akef Al-Fuqara, pointed out that scientific research has become an important basis for the progress and prosperity of nations today, and is no longer limited to universities or scientific journals only, but has a major role in building modern economies, developing societies, and enhancing knowledge security.
The Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Professor Ahmed Al-Khazali, said that this day comes within the framework of promoting scientific research in various fields of knowledge for university students, achieving sustainable development, and providing innovative solutions that face our societies in light of modern and accelerated technology, and an opportunity to adapt creativity and artificial intelligence to contribute to the generation of scientific research in our societies.
At the conclusion of the opening ceremony, the representative of the sponsor of the scientific day, Al-Atin, honored the participants from various institutions by distributing certificates of appreciation and shields to them.
Then, four specialized scientific sessions followed the opening, discussing multiple topics related to the role of scientific research in supporting knowledge and the economy, promoting innovation and intellectual property, in addition to artificial intelligence applications in developing research outputs.
The first session was entitled "The Contribution of Scientific Research to Cognitive and Economic Growth," during which Dr. Muhammad Al-Jaafari spoke, where they discussed ways to transform the outputs of scientific research into knowledge and economic products that serve society and the labor market.
As for the second session, it was entitled "Intellectual Property in Scientific Research," and Dr. Khaled Khraisat, the founding and executive director of the Academia-Industry Integration Platform, participated and talked about intellectual property in scientific research, challenges and opportunities. , and the Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University, Professor Samer Al-Dalala’a, addressed the importance of protecting the rights of researchers and encouraging innovation through the legal and regulatory frameworks for intellectual property.
In the third session, which was entitled "The Contribution of Artificial Intelligence in Improving Scientific Research," Dr. Shadi Al-Zoubi from Al-Zaytoonah University, and Dr. Amjad Qutaish from Al al-Bayt University, and the session focused on the possibilities of artificial intelligence in data analysis.
In the fourth session, entitled the challenges and obstacles facing graduate students in completing their scientific research, Professor Ahmed Al-Jamal from the Physics Department and the Director of International Relations, Dr. Laith Abu Aliqa, spoke. In conjunction with the scientific day, graduate students at Jordanian universities continued to discuss their scientific research, which was hosted by the halls of the Center of Excellence for Leadership and Innovation, their discussion sessions on the research of the Department of Life Sciences specialization, which took place under the supervision and follow-up of Professor Abdullah Al-Fawaz and in the presence of the faculty from the Faculty of Science.
