In the light of Al al-Bayt University's endeavor to develop scientific research, and foster researchers to pursuit excellence, creativity, knowledge industry and community service, as well as to honor its faculty members who provide scientific, research and academic services that reflect the University's development, the Council of Al al-Bayt University decided to set up the rules of nominating distinguished, superior and honor professors.

The rules of granting such nominations are based on several qualitative criteria of the scientific and humanitarian schools. Such criteria focus on the publication of scientific research on global databases, mentoring a specific number of graduate students, obtaining support for external or local scientific research, impact factor (H-Index), and achieving outstanding professional, technical and administrative work. The distinguished professor will be granted a gold medal received in a special ceremony, and his name will be written in the honor list, in addition to other privileges.

As for the professor of honor, the faculty member will be granted this title based on qualitative criteria related to achieving superior services in conducting the university's business which contributed to its growth and development as well as having a distinguished record in terms of the number of manuscripts, artistic and creative projects, international and local awards, certificates of appreciation, and services to the university, society and country.
