DOES THE ADOPTION OF BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE AFFECT ENTERPRISE RISK MANAGEMENT? EVIDENCE FROM JORDAN
Business intelligence (BI) adoption is still rudimentary in developing countries like Jordan. Accordingly, factors affecting BI adoption decision and its impact on enterprise risk management were examined in this study, using a model comprising unaddressed factors and some key factors associated with BI adoption. Data were obtained using questionnaire distributed to 22 Jordanian insurance companies that adopted BI. Partial least squares path modelling was used in the analysis involving 153 responses, and factors related to BI adoption were identified. The results showed that BI adoption was significantly and positively related to by factors of relative advantage, technological infrastructure, top management support, and competitive pressure, and was significantly and negatively related to complexity.
