Welcome to the Faculty of Arts and Humanities website which is designed to introduce the faculty, its mission, objectives, strategic plans, academic departments, administrative and academic staff, and its scientific activities, and to communicate with the local and international academic community.
The Faculty was founded in 1994 to implement AABU's philosophy, vision and objectives in teaching, research and community service. The Faculty has six departments: Arabic Language and Literature, English Language and Literature, History, Applied Geography, Modern Languages, and Facultative Humanitarian Requirements. The Faculty offers several programs at the undergraduate level. These include Arabic Language and Literature, English Language and Literature, History, Applied Geography, French Language and Literature, Italian / English, Spanish / English, and French / English. It also offers programs at the postgraduate level. These are Masters in Arabic Language and Literature, and Masters in English Language (Linguistics and Literature and Criticism), and a PhD program in Arabic Language and Literature. The Department of Facultative Humanitarian Requirements coordinates with the faculties and institutes and centers at the university to teach the humanitarian facultative requirement courses for university students.
The various programs of the faculty are taught by qualified staff who hold different academic ranks. The Faculty has 11 professors who hold the rank of professor, 23 who hold the rank of associate professor, 10 who hold the rank of assistant professor, in addition to five teachers. Other staff members from other faculties also participate in teaching humanitarian facultative requirement courses.
