The role of Al Qeblah newspaper in the documentation of the Great Arab Revolt(1916-1918 AD )
There is no doubt that every research and study should first be done to serve knowledge, and according to the foundations of a methodology based on accuracy, clarity and objectivity in all phases of research, to get to the aspirations of the researcher. This study has its main focus on achieving this, as it has embarked on tackling events, speeches and religious, political and social news contained in the articles published in Al Qeblah newspaper in Mecca about the Great Arab Revolt in 1334 AH / 1916 AD. As newspapers represent an utmost importance in monitoring and recording the entire diverse news and developing events on a daily basis, Al Qeblah newspaper is one of the main historical sources. It represents a contemporary eyewitness, as it accurately documents an important event in a pivotal period of the history of the Arabs, the Great Arab Revolt, led by Sharif Hussein bin Ali. Its importance also stems from the care Sharif Hussein himself provided for the newspaper in which he recorded many of his speeches. In addition, Al Qeblah newspaper monitored the political situation not only in the land of Hijaz, but in the majority of Arab countries at the time.
