A Deep Review and Analysis of Artificial Neural Network Use in Power Application with Further Recommendation and Future Direction
The Artificial Neural Network (ANN) has become popular in the past few years for its great performance. It is suitable for the nonlinear nature of dynamic systems. The literature contains many articles on the use of ANN in power applications such as voltage stabilization, fault detection, prediction, maximum power point tracking, analytical load component, and power quality. ANN is expected to continue evolving in the next few years, due to the availability of big data for energy applications and the use of deep learning analysis. In this paper, a recent literary survey is conducted on the use of ANN in power applications. Moreover, strengths and week points are shown in order to allow for appropriate selection of the type of ANN which is as important as the selection of ANN parameters.
