A scientific lecture titled "Organic Compounds and Their Use in Medical Fields" at Al al-Bayt University.

As part of the scientific activities organized by Al al-Bayt University - Faculty of Science, Professor Yassin Al-Saud, Professor of Chemistry at the University, delivered a specialized lecture entitled "Organic Compounds and Their Use in Medical Fields," attended by a number of faculty members and interested students.

During the lecture, Dr. Al-Saud reviewed methods for preparing some heterocyclic organic compounds, focusing on imidazole and triazole compounds, explaining their great importance in modern medical fields. He explained that these compounds are among the most important chemical structures that have shown distinct biological activity, which has made them the focus of researchers in the fields of combating viral diseases and treating cancerous tumors.

The lecturer touched on the mechanism of action of these compounds as potent inhibitors of the human immunodeficiency virus (AIDS), referring to the results of some studies that have proven the effectiveness of imidazole and triazole derivatives in inhibiting the activity of the virus and preventing its spread. He also indicated that these compounds have also shown promising ability as inhibitors of some types of cancer cells, especially breast cancer cells, which opens new horizons for the production of innovative drugs with high therapeutic efficiency and fewer side effects compared to traditional treatments.

Dr. Al-Saud emphasized the importance of scientific research in developing new drugs based on understanding the chemical structure of organic compounds and modifying them in a way that contributes to enhancing their medical effectiveness. He also called for supporting applied scientific research projects, and encouraging graduate students to engage in research on the design and preparation of compounds with biological applications.

At the end of the lecture, a rich scientific discussion took place between Dr. Al-Saud and the attendees, addressing a range of questions and inquiries about ways to develop these compounds and expand their use in other medical fields, in addition to discussing the challenges facing researchers in this vital field.
