Al al-Bayt University Organizes an Introductory Seminar on the Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II Award for Voluntary Work
Under the patronage of the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Saif Al-Shbail, and within its extracurricular summer activities, and in implementation of the vision of His Highness the Crown Prince, that volunteer work does not create an effective citizen, but rather builds a cohesive society, Al al-Bayt University, in cooperation with the Mafraq Youth Directorate - Ministry of Youth, through the Deanship of Student Affairs, represented by the Department of Political Education, organized an introductory seminar on the Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II Award for Volunteer Work, in which the Director of Mafraq Youth, Dr. Issa Al-Harahsheh, spoke. It was held in the Al-Bakhit Amphitheater at the university.
Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Saif Al-Shbail, affirmed at the beginning that Al al-Bayt University prioritizes and believes in volunteer work, as it is one of the university’s goals, mission and vision that contributes to building a conscious and belonging personality, and this is the basis for building societies, as His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, may God protect him, and His Highness the Crown Prince, wanted it to be, stressing to the students the need to pay attention and be keen to participate and compete for the award in qualitative topics.
Director of Mafraq Youth, Dr. Issa Al-Harahsheh, explained that the Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II Award for Volunteer Work is a purposeful national award, launched by His Highness the Crown Prince on December 5, 2021, in celebration of International Volunteer Day, and out of His Highness’s belief in the importance of volunteer work and its role in developing society and strengthening the values of giving among its members. He added that the award seeks to enhance the culture of volunteer work, stimulate the efforts of individuals and volunteer institutions, and activate social responsibility among institutions based on distinguished volunteer work, which has a positive impact on the sustainable development process.
Al-Harahsheh also urged university youth to submit more qualitative initiatives during his presentation on the vision and mission of the award, as well as its most prominent goals, areas, categories, conditions, and most prominent themes, and the important topics that qualify participants, whether individuals, institutions, or groups, on how to compete to obtain it.
The seminar, which was presented and managed by Muhammad Al-Shawafqa from the Department of Political Education at the Deanship, and was attended by the Director of Communications at the Mafraq Youth Directorate, Niveen Tashman, Naifeh Alimat, the award liaison officer, some members of the teaching staff, and a large number of university students, included a dialogue and discussion with the lecturer Al-Harahsheh, in which he answered students' questions and inquiries.
