Al-Dmour sponsors the Conclusion of the 2nd international conference on the integrated natural disasters management

Under the patronage of Prof. Hani Al-Dmour, President of Al al-Bayt University, the 2nd International Conference on Integrated Natural Disasters Management was concluded. This conference included four sessions held over two days, with the participation of more than 42 researchers and graduate students from the United States of America, Canada, Turkey, Tunisia, Palestine, and Jordan. The sessions involved papers that dealt with the most important crises that Jordan, the Middle East and the world are going through, and their scientific predictions of crises that may be of a high level of importance. This requires the decision-makers' attention to foster methods of coordination and integration between all official and private institutions and relevant authorities in the management of natural disasters to ensure achieving exemplary use of the available resources before or during a disaster.

In the closing session, Prof. Moayyad Al-Shawaqfeh, President Assistant for Crisis Management, presented the most important recommendations of the conference, including:

The need for the Jordanian government support to the Crisis and Disaster Management, Modeling and Simulation Center at Al al-Bayt University, directing master's thesis and research of graduate students in the concerned faculties and institutes towards facing disasters and crises locally and internationally, developing an emergency plan for the challenges facing Jordan by the concerned authorities, and moving towards holding this conference annually due to the importance of the specialized research it deals with.

It is worth noting that the participants emphasized the leading scientific role played by the Crises and Disasters Management Center at Al al-Bayt University, which is the only center in the Middle East. This center will be responsible for the recommendations that the conference came up with and follow up on their implementation in reality.

The conference activities concluded with honoring the graduate student from the Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Imad Rjoub, as the author of the best scientific paper in the conference entitled:

"Remote sensing image ‐ based analysis of the urban heat island effect in Irbid area".
