A scientific seminar entitled "Sustainability and Innovation in the Heart of the Mountains", in cooperation with Al al-Bayt University and the We Are All Jordan Youth Commission in Zarqa Governorate.

Based on the distinguished role of Al al-Bayt University in serving the local community, and the importance of promoting community work, and on the occasion of the International Mountain Day, the Hashemite Cultural Forum held a scientific seminar entitled "Sustainability and Innovation in the Heart of the Mountains", in cooperation with Al al-Bayt University and the We Are All Jordan Youth Commission in Zarqa Governorate.

The seminar was presented by a representative of Al al-Bayt University, Dr. Hamza Bani Khaled from the Department of Applied Geography in the Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences, where he discussed in his lecture the importance of mountains and their vital role in environmental balance, in addition to highlighting the environmental and economic importance of mountainous areas.

Dr. Bani Khaled also spoke about the most prominent challenges facing the mountains, especially climate change, unregulated urban expansion, and the depletion of natural resources, stressing the need to adopt sustainable management methods for mountainous areas, and promote innovation in investing their resources in a way that ensures their protection for future generations.

He also presented during the seminar an explanation of the mountain ranges in Jordan, addressing the most important Jordanian mountain heights and their natural characteristics, and their role in environmental diversity and economic and tourism activities.

The seminar comes within the framework of partnership between academic institutions and cultural and youth bodies in spreading environmental awareness, promoting scientific research, and supporting initiatives aimed at protecting mountainous areas and achieving sustainable development.​
