A seminar entitled "How History is Written and How States are Managed: A Dialogue between the Term of History and Siyasatnama" at Al al-Bayt University

The Department of History at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Al al-Bayt University organized a scientific seminar entitled: "How History is Written and How States are Managed: A Dialogue Between the Terminology of History and Siyasatnama," within the framework of the department's commitment to promoting historical culture and developing critical thinking skills among students.


In the opening speech of the seminar, which was moderated by the Head of the History Department, Dr. Khader Eid Al-Sarhan, Al-Sarhan welcomed the attendees and thanked the President of the University, Professor Dr. Osama Nusier, for his continuous support for holding such scientific meetings that contribute to refining the student's personality and enriching his knowledge, stressing that these seminars represent an intellectual space that combines reading the curriculum, history, and the reality of state administration.


Al-Sarhan called on students to adhere to science, reading, and diligence to be a model for the Faculty of Arts, the Department of History, and the University in general, and to be active contributors to building the future.


Al-Sarhan pointed out that history is not just a narrative of events, but rather a key to understanding the forces that shaped the lives of peoples and formulated their identity, past, and future. He stressed that the mission of the Department of History is to enable students with the tools of critical thinking and objective analysis in a way that enhances their ability to anticipate the future through understanding the past.


Dr. Ayed Taran, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, spoke, explaining that extracurricular activities come to stimulate students to conduct in-depth research and develop their abilities to practice critical and analytical thinking in various scientific fields, especially the science of history. He added that studying history is not just a science, but a message, understanding, and future vision, stressing that the distinguished programs offered by the department, with the support of the university presidency and the college dean, provide students with a rich educational experience capable of pushing them towards leadership and innovation.


Student Salim Salem Mutawwar presented a research paper entitled "Reading in the Book of the Terminology of History" by the author Asad Rustam, in which he reviewed the scientific rules and methodologies dealt with in the book, indicating that it is one of the first books that applied the rules of the terminology of Hadith science to the methodology of writing history.


Student Jamila Nizam Hussein also presented a research paper entitled "Reading in the Book Siyasatnama" by Minister Nizam al-Mulk al-Tusi, in which she reviewed the author's biography and the book's fifty chapters, stressing that the book represents an immortal document that highlights that justice is the basis for the survival of the state, and that good governance begins with establishing justice among the people.


At the conclusion of the seminar, which was attended by members of the teaching staff in the Department of History and a large number of students, Dr. Khader Al-Sarhan thanked the President of the University, the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Saeed Abu Khader, the Public Relations and Media Department, and all the attendees. He also thanked Dr. Ihab Zaher for his follow-up and supervision of the research of the participating students.​
