Bangladesh A Development Miracle at 50 A lecture at Al al-Bayt University by the Ambassador of Bangladesh

Al al-Bayt University, upon an invitation from the Center of Excellence for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, hosted the Ambassador of the Republic of Bangladesh, Nahida Subhan, to talk about “Bangladesh Development Miracle at 50" in attendance of the Vice President for Planning and Development, Prof. Bassam Mahasneh, and the Director of the Center of Excellence for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Mohammad Al-Hadab.

On the occasion of her country's National Day, the ambassador stated that the Republic of Bangladesh, which has been independent since 1971, was able over the past fifty years, with the efforts of its founder, Sheikh Mujib Al-Rahman, to overcome political and economic difficulties to be an example of development in various fields of education, health, agriculture, information technology, crisis management and natural disasters. She added that the republic worked on empowering women and youth under the leadership of the current Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina.

The ambassador, further, referred to Jordan's role under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein in clarifying the true image of Islam as a religion of moderation. She called for increasing investment and tourism cooperation opportunities between the two countries, especially in light of the presence of more than 65,000 Bengali workers in Jordan. She also showed videos showing civilization renaissance in Bangladesh and the most important tourist areas.

Prof. Bassam Mahasneh, highlighted that the Bengali experience is a model of economic and human development, and that there are common denominators between the two countries that increase opportunities for investment and cultural cooperation.

The meeting was attended by a number of deans, faculty and administrative staff, and interested people from the local community.
