Start of the health awareness program in cooperation between Princess Salma bint Abdullah Faculty of Nursing and the Municipality of Manshiyat Bani Hassan

The activities of the health awareness program organized by the Princess Salma bint Abdullah Faculty of Nursing at Al al-Bayt University, in cooperation with the Municipality of Manshiyat Bani Hassan, kicked off in Manshiyat Bani Hassan, as part of the two parties’ efforts to promote health awareness and prevent diseases in the local community.


Engineer Muayyad Shudaifat, Deputy Mayor of Manshiyat Bani Hassan and Program Officer, affirmed that this initiative comes within the framework of the municipality’s keenness to support awareness programs that directly serve the citizen and contribute to raising the level of public health, pointing to the importance of cooperation with higher education institutions to serve the people of the community and achieve sustainable health development.


For her part, Ms. Rania Al-Ajlouni, representative of the Princess Salma bint Abdullah Faculty of Nursing, explained that the program aims to spread health awareness among members of society and enable nursing students to apply their practical skills in the field, by providing free medical examinations and direct health guidance.


The program included a number of awareness stations and free examinations that included measuring blood pressure and blood sugar levels, examining body mass index, in addition to educational sessions on healthy eating, physical activity, and prevention of chronic diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure, in addition to awareness of oral and dental health and maternal and child health.


Those in charge of the program indicated that it will continue for a full month, during which a range of awareness activities and events will be implemented in various areas of Manshiyat Bani Hassan, to ensure that the benefit reaches the largest possible number of members of the local community.


The program was widely welcomed by the people, who praised the efforts of the college and the municipality in spreading health culture and providing preventive medical services, stressing the importance of continuing such initiatives due to their direct positive impact on the health of the community.


This activity comes within a series of awareness programs implemented by the Princess Salma bint Abdullah Faculty of Nursing in cooperation with local community institutions, within the framework of its social responsibility and its mission to promote health education and serve​
