The Center for Sustainable Development and Women's Empowerment participates in the Women's Committee meeting in the Senate.
The Sustainable Development and Women's Empowerment Center at Al al-Bayt University, represented by its Director, Dr. Hatem Al-Masaeid, and Ms. Hanan Al-Shdefat, participated in a meeting held by the Women's Committee in the Senate, chaired by Senator Dr. Khawla Al-Armouti, to discuss the role of women's studies centers in Jordanian universities and their future plans.
During the meeting, Dr. Al-Masaeid reviewed the center's orientations, which focus on the practical aspect of women's empowerment, particularly in the Mafraq Governorate, through the implementation of programs and training courses aimed at supporting sustainable development, in addition to cooperation with international organizations in financing projects and serving local communities.
For her part, Al-Shdefat explained that the center is based on integrating the concept and objectives of sustainable development with women's empowerment, as its organizational structure includes divisions for women's empowerment, refugees, studies and research, and community development, noting that the center's action plan includes evaluating the impact of projects related to women's affairs and measuring their impact on society.
Members of the Women's Committee in the Senate stressed the importance of unifying the efforts of women's centers in Jordanian universities and working together to present the reality of challenges and obstacles, and to come up with recommendations that are submitted to the committee, to work in a sustainable partnership in support of the advancement of these centers, and in belief of the importance of the role they play.
