In its continuous endeavor to serve the local community and promote sustainable development, Al al-Bayt University, represented by the Center for Sustainable Development and Women's Empowerment, in cooperation with the Women's Empowerment Unit in the Umm al-Jimal Municipality, held an awareness lecture today, Thursday, April 9, 2026, entitled "Women's Empowerment and Their Role in Community Development."

The lecture was presented by Professor Hani Akhu Ershaideh, Vice President of the University for Community Affairs and International Relations, and Ms. Hanan Al-Shadaifat, Head of the Community Development Division, under the supervision of Engineer Amira Al-Masaeed from the municipality and in the presence of the Head of the Umm al-Jimal Municipal Committee, Dr. Muhammad Abu Aleim, and the Director of the Center for Sustainable Development and Women's Empowerment, Dr. Hatem Al-Masaeed.

During the event, which was attended by a group of local community women, the speakers addressed strategic themes that focused on enhancing the status of women and activating their role as a fundamental pillar in achieving the goals of sustainable development.

This participation embodies Al al-Bayt University's vision of building bridges of cooperation with national institutions and municipalities, and transferring academic and field experiences to empower members of society.

At the conclusion of the event, the head of the Umm al-Jimal Municipal Committee expressed his appreciation to the center's team, presenting them with a shield in recognition of their active contribution to the success of this activity.
