The Faculty of Educational Sciences at the University Organizes a Lecture for its Students on "Promoting Inclusive Education Through the Use of Assistive Technology"
The Faculty of Educational Sciences, in cooperation with the German Organization GIZ, the CBM organization, and the Al-Nahda Association for People with Disabilities, organized a training workshop for the faculty's students entitled "Promoting Inclusive Education Through the Use of Assistive Technology," in the Centennial Hall at the faculty, in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Dr. Youssef Al-Miqdadi, a number of faculty members, and students.
During the workshop, Professor Dr. Saleh Al-Shurafat and Professor Dr. Ehsan Al-Khaldi spoke. Al-Shurafat explained during his intervention the importance of promoting inclusive education through the use of assistive technology, noting that this event aims to raise the awareness of educational staff about the importance of integrating students with disabilities into the educational environment, and to provide them with the skills and technological tools necessary to support their learning, in a way that contributes to enhancing their active participation in the educational process.
Al-Khaldi also stressed the need to develop modern educational strategies that take into account the needs of students with disabilities, and enhance the principle of equal opportunities in education. Dr. Al-Shurafat also discussed mechanisms for preparing educational materials in accessible formats suitable for students with disabilities, in addition to reviewing international and local legislation that guarantees their right to learn in inclusive schools, pointing to the most prominent challenges facing the implementation of inclusive education in Jordan.
At the conclusion of the workshop, an interactive discussion took place between the lecturers and the attendees, during which views were exchanged and inquiries were raised about the themes of the workshop.
