Al al-Bayt University's Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences Celebrates the International Day of Medical Laboratories
On behalf of the President of Al al-Bayt University, Professor Osama Nusier, the Vice President, Professor Ahmed Alawneh, sponsored the activities of the celebration of the International Day of Medical Laboratories, which was organized by the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences, Department of Medical Analysis.
The Vice President, Professor Ahmed Alawneh, inaugurated the exhibition of laboratory equipment and activities organized by the Department of Medical Analysis, with the participation of a number of medical laboratories in the private sector.
The Dean of the College, Professor Muhammad Nazzal, affirmed that the celebration of the International Day of Medical Laboratories is a precious occasion in which we shed light on the unsung heroes who work behind the scenes and represent the main pillar of the healthcare system, adding that the college plays its role in qualifying national cadres armed with science and knowledge, keeping pace with the latest diagnostic and research technologies, adopting sustainability and innovation in laboratory practices, and adhering to environmental responsibility and maintaining the highest quality standards befitting the name and status of Al al-Bayt University.
The Head of the Department of Medical Analysis, Dr. Amal Azriel, also affirmed that the department provides knowledge of medical laboratory sciences to students, such as hematology, microbiology, histology, and clinical biochemistry, and trains students in the Kingdom's hospitals to acquire practical and applied experiences and qualify them to enter the labor market.
The President of the Medical Laboratories and Analysis Association, Dr. An'am Sbeihat, provided a presentation on the role of the association in supporting the profession of medical analysis specialists, who have proven high efficiency in the healthcare process, especially during the Corona pandemic.
Professor Samar Saad Eddin presented a lecture entitled "Quality Control in Medical Laboratories," while artificial intelligence expert Dr. Nabil Hijazi presented a lecture entitled "Artificial Intelligence and its Applications in Medical Laboratories." Dr. Nada Nawwaf from MedLabs Laboratories presented a lecture on the role of medical laboratories in detecting breast cancer, and student Ataf Sami gave a presentation on the role and importance of medical laboratory specialization in solving crime.
At the conclusion of the activities of the International Day of Medical Laboratories, which was attended by the Director of MedLabs Medical Laboratories, Dr. Muhammad Dafoush, the Dean of the College presented certificates of appreciation to the participants in the scientific day, which was supervised by laboratory technician Majeda Dughaimat.
