The Secretary-General of the Omani Ifta Office inaugurates the new building of the Omani Research and Studies Center at Al al-Bayt University

The Secretary-General of the Omani Ifta Office, His Eminence Sheikh Ahmed bin Saud Al-Siyabi, accompanied by the Director of the Committees and Foreign Relations Department at the Omani Ifta Office, Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Ahmed bin Hamad Al-Khalili, and in the presence of the President of Al al-Bayt University, Professor Dr. Osama Nusier, and the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, His Excellency Sayyid Fahd bin Abdul Rahman Al-Ajili, inaugurated the new building of the Omani Research and Studies Center at Al al-Bayt University and its affiliated library.


Sheikh Al-Siyabi, Dr. Nusier, and the accompanying delegation toured the center's facilities, where they listened to an explanation presented by the center's director, Professor Dr. Muhammad Bani Khalid, about the center in its new form and its civilizational role in introducing the ancient Omani culture and history by providing the academic arena with specialized lectures and seminars, and organizing conferences and Omani scientific days within the university.


Sheikh Al-Siyabi also inaugurated the library specialized in Omani history and heritage, affiliated with the Omani Research and Studies Center in the Hashemite Library building, which includes a large collection of specialized books and references in Omani literature, history, culture, and civilization, in addition to publications of conferences and scientific events organized by the center at the university since its establishment.


For his part, the President of Al al-Bayt University, Professor Dr. Osama Nusier, welcomed Sheikh Al-Siyabi, Sheikh Al-Khalili, and the accompanying delegation, stressing the deep-rooted fraternal relations that unite the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Sultanate of Oman, leadership and people. He also praised the role played by Sheikh Al-Siyabi and Sheikh Al-Khalili in establishing the Omani Research and Studies Center and strengthening the bonds of scientific and cultural cooperation between Al al-Bayt University and the Omani Ifta Office, with the support of the Sultanate of Oman's embassy in Amman.


Dr. Nusier pointed out the university's aspiration to expand the horizons of scientific and cultural cooperation with the sister Omani institutions, which contributes to the exchange of experiences and knowledge and the strengthening of common gains between the two sides.


The opening ceremony was attended by His Excellency Ambassador Al-Ajili, the Cultural Counselor at the Omani Embassy, Dr. Salem Al-Wahibi, Mr. Ishaq Al-Rawahi, Mr. Hammoud Al-Qa`nuni, Mr. Ayman Al-Daghishi, Dr. Hilal Al-Kharousi, the Vice President of the University, Professor Dr. Hani Abu Rashidah, and a number of deans of faculties, academic and administrative staff members, and stakeholders.


It is worth noting that Sheikh Ahmed bin Saud Al-Siyabi will deliver a lecture titled "The Role of Ifta in Consolidating Moderation and Protecting Society from Extremist Thought" at the headquarters of the Arab Thought Forum in the capital, Amman.
