Al al-Bayt and The National Center for Security and Crisis Management Discuss Joint Cooperation

Deputy Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, head of the National Center for Security and Crisis Management, Brigadier General Hatem Al-Zoubi and an accompanying delegation visited Al al-Bayt University and met with the president, Prof. Hani Al-Dmour. The visit aimed at discussing ways to strengthen the institutional relationship between the two parties in the fields of scientific research and related sciences, sharing theoretical and practical teaching experiences in the fields of crisis and disaster management.

Brigadier Al-Zoubi highlighted that the Center's role is to achieve integration, coordination, and unification of efforts between the various institutions and concerned authorities at the national level in the face of crises and disasters, to create a safe and stable national environment, and to establish a comprehensive national early warning system for risks that cover all regions of the Kingdom. He added that the center works on the early prediction of crises by building a comprehensive national database and information enabling decision makers to make informed decisions based on accurate, timely and relevant information, and developing programs and policies related to building and security of the national database and information.

Al-Zoubi pointed out the importance of strengthening the link between the University and the Center as Al al-Bayt University represents science and scientific research, while the Center represents expertise, capabilities and advanced technology stressing the importance of activating cooperation through participation in the various activities, exercises and workshops conducted by the Center related to facing expected risk scenarios.

Prof. Hani Al-Dmour, in turn, welcomed the visit confirming his pride in this partnership as the University is keen to enhance the concepts of comprehensive national security among its students through a package of procedures, decisions and programs. He also confirmed the University's keenness to conduct scientific research aimed at facing current and expected challenges, crises and problems in the future, so that Jordan remains an oasis of security and stability.

Al-Dmour handled the University's role in focusing on the axes of self-reliance in economic and financial resources, building a national model for sustainable energy, solving the water scarcity challenge and promoting concepts of community peace and comprehensive national security. He, further, addressed the initiative of providing non-traditional solutions to national issues, and keeping pace with the Fourth Industrial Revolution by depending on renewable energy at the University.

During the meeting, which was attended by the Vice President, Prof. Bassam Al-Mahasneh, president assistant for crises, Prof. Moayyad Al-Shawaqfeh, the Director of Public Relations and Media, Dr. Reem Al-Zoubi, the assistant director of the Crisis Center, Dr. Diaa El-Din Al-Sraihin, and a number of stakeholders, Prof Al-Dmour praised the efforts of the National Security Center as it is regarded the brain of government institutions and the coordinator between agencies and institutions to confront the risks and crises that Jordan faced or may face now and in the future, indicating that the University is proud to be the research and scientific arm of the National Center for Security and Crisis Management.

The meeting was concluded with the visit of the Head of the National Center for Security and Crisis Management and his accompanying delegation to the Center for Management, Modeling and Simulation of Crises and Disasters, which was recently established at the University, where they were briefed on the modern scientific equipment in the Center. At the end, Prof. Al-Dmour exchanged commemorative shields with Brigadier General Hatem Al-Zoubi.​​
